The current owners of this home in Berkeley Street have lived here for over fifteen years and they have faithfully looked after it and taken care to maintain the original features. They have been proud of the story of this home and sincerely hope that the property will pass on to someone who will take guardianship and continue to care for it in the future.
Old photographs, such as these, were used to glean details during the restoration process. The current fence, for example, was created to look as much like the original as possible. The current owners not only spoke to previous owners, who described features of the house but went to the Castlemaine Historical Society and used a colour specialist who provided an appropriate colour scheme for the interior.
All the foundations are in in place and can be built upon by those who see fresh potential.
